Activist Ateeq-ur-Rehman has urged Sindh government to ensure implementation of the pre-marriage mandatory thalassemia screening/test. He also asked World Bank to provide technical support and assistance to Sindh government in this connection.

Rehman who actively works for eradication of thalassemia said that the deadly disease was erupting like volcano and a large number of children were dying due to lack of proper medical support.
